The Best Movies From the Campus MovieFest 2007-2008 World Tour

The Campus MovieFest (CMF) National Grand Finale, held at the historic Hudson Theatre in Times Square, featured the top short movies made in one week from over 50,000 students during this year's CMF World Tour. Hosted by Judah Friedlander ("30 Rock"), the National Grand Finale showcased incredible movies and huge prizes, plus special presenters including Larenz Tate, Domenick Lombardozzi, and Franky G. Campus MovieFest, originally started by four students and now the world's largest student film festival, provides Apple laptops, camcorders, independent music, and training to all participants for free, thanks to supporting partner AT&T. Congratulations to the Elfenworks finalists whose films have won them $2,500!

The Elfenworks Social Justice Category challenged students to create films that capture the often untold stories of those in our communities who are 'in harmony with hope' and making a difference in helping with domestic poverty. One out of eight people (37.0 million people) in our country live below the poverty line today, and the 2007-2008 Elfenworks Social Justice CMF category focuses on showcasing the visionaries working towards solutions to this very real problem. Three finalists took home $2,500 grants: "The Art of Overcoming Poverty", "Volunteer", and "The Face of Poverty". Plus, one grand prize winner -- "The Street Crusade" -- earned a $10,000 grant.
