Avoid filming trademarks, logos, or footage of other media (like TV/movie clips, video games, artwork, etc.). Do not put popular (or unpopular) music or sounds in your movie, because it's definitely copyrighted and you definitely don't have the rights to it 😉.
There are plenty of free sound effect and music websites that require no special license. Here's three:
Only currrent students from the school in which you are submitting your movie for competition are allowed to work on your film. This includes all creative and non-creative roles, with the exception of actors.
Actors are not limited to students and can be from any school and of any age. Have a dog that can act? Get him in your movie, because we all want to see your pup.
Prep as much as you like (in fact, we encourage it). Write your script, storyboard your action, book your locations. But you must film and edit your movie all within the Moviemaking Week!
You have from 12:00am on the first day, through 11:59pm on the last day, to do all your production through post-production, and upload your film. We recommend entering your release forms and being ready to submit your finished film a couple hours before the final deadline in case there are any techincal issues.
